Whisky Tasting 2019

An interesting flight of whisky on the runway this evening. I recall taking notes but like so after many whisky evenings the notes get more and more obscure. Whisky is also very personal to ones individual taste and so it is very difficult to write an accurate appraisal as a self confessed whisky amateur.

No1 on the list this evening was a Glen Garioch Virgin Oak. Smooth but thick, quite a powerful whisky to start with but for me one of the best whiskys of the evening. Definitely one to add some water too to dilute the strength and flavour.

No 2 of the flight Blood Oak 46% Auchentoshan 46%

A much gentler whisky but a creeping after burn on the back of the throat which I quite enjoyed. Another whisky in need to a bit of water. Not everyones favourite but still a very nice full of colour and flavour.

No 3. Machir Bay 46% Kilchoman

No5. Natural Cask Strength

Edradour Cask 57.1%
