Latest Covid Report 22/5/2021

There have been 231,652 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Scotland and 7,664 people have died following a positive test for the virus, according to the Scottish government.

On Saturday, Scotland recorded 370 new cases of coronavirus but no further deaths.

Figures published by the Scottish government showed the daily test positivity rate was 1.8%, down from 1.9% the previous day.

So far 3,096,341 people have received the first dose of a Covid vaccination and 1,799,956 have received their second dose.

The charts below were updated using figures available at 14:00 on Friday 21 May, as the Scottish government does not publish all statistics at the weekend.

There are three main symptoms of coronavirus. If you get just one of them, you should get a test.

What are the symptoms?

New and continuous cough - coughing a lot for more than an hour, or having three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours

Fever - a temperature above 37.8C

Change in smell or taste - either you cannot taste or smell anything, or these senses are different to normal.

Public Health UK says about 85% of people with Covid will have at least one.
